About Us

The first edition of the Yorkshire Dyslexia Festival will take place on Saturday 2nd July 2022, at Pudsey Civic Hall.
The event is organised by Yorkshire Rose Dyslexia. We believe in a dyslexic friendly society, that enables every neuro-diverse person of all ages to reach their full potential - which is why we wanted to create an event that provide support and help but also celebrates dyslexia.

Dyscalculia and maths learning difficulties | 1-2pm
This talk will investigate the common barriers to mathematics, from anxiety and resilience, through inefficiencies in working memory, to dyscalculia, and how these impact learning. We will look at some practical approaches, and particularly at ways that children can be supported at home to maximise the effectiveness of their learning.

Using technology for accessibility | 2:30-3:30pm
We will look at practical ways to support students and encourage independence. Be it literacy or maths, inside or outside the classroom or even in exam situations; this session will explore how Texthelp tools support students wherever learning happens.
